Brief from Carole Scanlon

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I live on a property at Bundella at the foot of the Liverpool range.  I have been painting for many years using oils watercolour and now paint in mixed medium and acrylics.  Paintings are mostly landscapes and large flowers on canvas.
C. Scanlon - Broken Hill
I paint in an expressive and impressionistic style in bold colours and try to capture the light and feeling of the day and aim for a fresh and spontaneous approach.
Jude Bailey-Preston
The Drip
Jude Bailey-Preston is a versatile artist, working with all mediums, who has lived in the Coolah district for thirty years, but still loves observing its natural wonders. The seasonal changes of light and colour on all the familiar hills, the hidden treasures of valleys, gorges and water holes, the views and trees of the Tops National Park and the magical line of the Warrumbungles.  Jude practices and teaches Yoga part time and paints as much as she can with the rest of her day. She studied at Julian Ashton Art School at various times, Summer schools and Tafe courses when young, but has been mostly self taught since residing in the bush.  She has a great love of all art, but in her own painting is mainly influenced by the work of Lloyd Rees especially the way his work evolved as he aged and his love of interpreting the Australian landscape. Thus Jude continues to work at trying to put the connection and mystery she finds in the different facets of the landscape into her painting.
