A Brief History

In the early part of 1963 the Dunedoo Lions Club, led by their President, called a meeting of persons interested in forming a Club at Coolah. The results of the meeting lead to the formation and Charter of the Lions Club of Coolah.

The Club was formed with 17 Charter members and was the beginning of a long and successful Club which over the years has carried out many hours of community service.

Within two months of the Club forming they started, with the aid of the former Coolah Shire Council, a tree planting project in the streets of Coolah with the planting of 120 trees was conducted.

Some of the fund raising carried out by the Lions Club of Coolah includes The Salvation Army and Red Cross Door Knock Appeals plus many funds have been raised for the benefit of the Coolah and wider communities.

The Lions Club of Coolah meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings at the Black Stump Inn for refreshments, meal and meeting. For further information conduct Ken Pellow Ph: (02)68446271
